Colin has been working with the band for almost a year now in the studio on the new album due out in late 2010. After jamming with us for a long time we decided to add him as a full member of the band.

Work continues on the second album, but the band is still seeking a bassist and vocalist. If interested, e-mail the band at contact@gloriousdeath.com.

Glorious Death is currently looking for a new bassist and vocalist for the band (or someone who can do both). The band currently meets to practice and record 1-2 times a week, and is currently working on recording a new album due out this fall.

The band currently practices in Kirkwood MO. We are not looking for a specific style of vocals or bass playing, we just want someone that will mesh well with the band and be able to contribute to the music writing process as well as live shows. We hope to be playing live shows again by summer. We have already played shows at venues such as Cicero’s, Pops and more.

If interested please contact us at contact@gloriousdeath.com with a little info about you, a phone number, and links to any recordings if you have them. We will contact you as soon as possible.

Glorious Death hails “The Dawn of Darkness”

Hollywood, CA – The sun will set permanently on Aug. 19 when Glorious Death releases its genre-bending masterpiece “The Dawn of Darkness,” a focused, intense, eclectic album of hard-hitting tunes.

“I strongly believe that the industry is a cookie-cutter, look-alike, cloning machine,” according to Mike McKeown, the primary member of Glorious Death, offering the motivation behind writing music that mixes styles with such seeming abandon.

“All this pop-hip-hop shit I hear on the radio all sounds the same. No real emotion in it, nothing original, nothing special.” His ire at mainstream music and his insistence on breaking with tradition stem from his love of music.

“I really get into the music I listen to,” he says. “I can sit there and just listen to an album for an hour, not doing anything else at all, concentrating on all the little parts.” Soundalike industry-manufactured music can’t offer that, he says. But he can.

“For example, in our new song, ‘Total Fucking Darkness,’ I use old school hip-hop beats in a [black metal style] song.” His own musical tastes are quite eclectic, he reveals, and believes it’s only fitting that his own music reflect that.

Touring is planned for late 2007 or early 2008. Glorious Death is also busy putting the final touches on the upcoming release as well as looking ahead to the future. “We are in the studio recording for the album due out in August, but we have already started writing a few songs for the album after that.”

Greetings kids!

Work on the new album continues throughout the winter months. So far 2 of the 3 instrumentals for the album have been recorded. In addition, the songs “Heathen” and “Come Into the Night” have been completed and both are on our Myspace player, meaning 4 songs are complete.

There is still no official release date for the album, but we are thinking early June 2007. We have finally come up with a final track listing, as follows.

4. The Tempest Leads My Enemy’s Scorn [instrumental]
5. Ode to a Goddess
6. Till Death Do Us Part
7. For England
8. Total Fucking Darkness
9. Save Me
10. Come Into the Night
11. Scorched Earth

In addition, the band has recorded two b-sides, Angel of Death and Fiend, as well as an alternitive production of “Come Into the Night” which may surface on future compilations or bonus CDs.

The Official Glorious Death website is back online!
We apologize for the troubles, we recently switched to a new, better server. Visit us at http://www.gloriousdeath.net

As you can see, I’ve been keeping very busy outside GD, but the band remains my main focus and my side projects will not delay the new album. Also, the band is still looking for a female vocalist, so if you are interested, send us a message via myspace. Thanks
